Topic: 1st Half Pound Gesha Roast (20 lines)
1) From: Les
It took 5 trial runs on the USRC to get the profile I wanted for a Gesha
roast. The good news is that 1st crack on my bean probe is at 385 for both
the one pound roast and the half pound roast. The bad news is on my first
roast I had a nice city plus roast in 7 minutes! This roaster has a lot of
power! I finally dialed in a roast that has a nice ramp up and finishes at
a city plus in 15 minutes. I roasted my last half pound of last year's
Guatemalan Gesha on the 6th roast. Bean crunch test was really good. I'll
be brewing a pot tomorrow. I am glad Tom is sending some practice Gesha,
which I will use to refine the profile even more. Mike McKoffee, I have a
lot more admiration for all of the different weights and profiles you are
roasting now that I have played with different weights and profiles.
