Took my roaster with me to Oregon over the weekend to show the family
what fresh roast tastes like. Sorry miKe I couldn't stop by because I
wasn't driving this time.
On Sunday evening I was tasked to roast six batches for family and
friends. Normally, at home, between roasts, I cool the IR2 using the
vent on the ol Jennair cooktop. It takes about 10 min to remove all the
residual heat from the unit. This weekend the Jennair wouldn't fit in
the suit case, so I had to devise another cooling method. I decided to
cool the unit between roasts by first removing the lid, hitting the
roast button, then immediately hitting the cool button. The unit was
completely cool after three cycles (12 min) using this method. Worked
just fine. I did notice that the fluidized bed heated instantly after
hitting the roast button, so I tried to hit the cool button quickly.
Good to be home in central California this morning.
