Topic: Very OT - It was Sid Caesar (2 msgs / 27 lines)
1) From: PAUL RIFKIN
Mr. Caesar's did didoubletalk routines in a variety of "languages" Italian, German, French. One of the glories of the old Caesar's Hour were "Operas" sung in foreign doubletalk with the occasional English word used to carry on the plot.
Sadly much of the material is gone apparently, like many of Carson's tonight shows: erased, deteriorated into fire hazards or melted down into guitar picks. Thanks, NBC executives.
