Topic: fat fingered a Hot Top roast today (5 msgs / 85 lines)
1) From: Mike Koenig
Don't know how many HotTop roasters have done this... I was roasting
my first batch of the Koratie DP today. I went to hit the scroll
button, but fat fingered it and hit the eject button at ~330F. Had to
wait ~10 minutes for a full cooldown before I could put it back in.

start the roast, so in case I miss again, I won't be ejecting a
partially roasted batch.
This will be an interesting experiment in "double roasting"
Good thing it wasn't a Gesha batch!!

I don't know the HT buttons, but I fat fingered a roast on my Behmor and it
is super simple controls. Hit Off instead of cool. Then the roaster was too
hot to go into Cool.
I am much more careful now, but have still caught myself real close to the
wrong button since

It was a long time ago and I tried all kinds of incantations of buttons,
IIRC.
I think there is a heat fail-safe that won't let it start anything.

It will always let you press off, then 1lb then cool. I just tried it
30 seconds after hit cool on a roast I did today and it worked fine.
Test it next time you do a cleaning cycle. if it doesn't work,
something is possibly broken.
