Topic: Amazing my coworkers (5 msgs / 120 lines)
1) From: Ira Sender
Working in an ER, most of my coworkers are used to drinking the swill that
masquerades in our department as coffee. Many know that I homeroast, and
could not get the idea of different "tastes" in coffee. So, today I brought
enough from home to make one pot each of Koratie DP and Finca San Jose Ocana
We drank the Guatemalan at 10am and the Koratie at 2:30 PM. Once I
convinced people that the Koratie was not artificially flavored they were
absolutely amazed that two coffees can be so good yet so different. Ahh,
sharing the love...

Oh, Ira - isn't it wonderful when you can share this with others? It
*is*horrid when
the reaction is negative - although I've been fortunate with my friends.
Even w/the
ones who think my obsession is crazy - they enjoy my brew.
I have become wise, though - I'm not in a work situation like you are, but
I've been
bringing my homeroast to a certain dear friend (while I love her, I think
she's known
for her.. um.. frugality). After several times of doing this, I've decided
to stop my
generosity (at least for now). Later I'll ask her if she'd like to buy some
when I put in
an order w/Sweet Maria's, since I can't afford to keep giving it all away.
If you want to continue, you could have a coffee donation cup, or something
similar.
Good work!

Good work. Keep it up, Ira! What are you going to do when they start =
asking for more?

Ira,
I work in a Fire Station and most of my coworker like similar swill
(blue foil pack) that they call coffee. I have started roasting larger
batches that I take to work and share. I have noticed several will
only drink coffee now when I make "the good stuff" and a few have
commented that they would be willing to pay into a coffee fund if I
bring more.
There is hope....
