ok.. well here is what ya do!! this happened to me about 2 years ago
with an ebay find of a FAEMA Compact... GRAT MACHINE BTW.. anyway...
everything I could dream for accept... the uneducated seller didnt
drain the tank before air shipping.. well water in tank froze and
expanded... bused out fittings and everything.. anyway... long story
short... took the boiler out and to a radiator shop for cars.. local
one ..they work on boilers and pressure test them even.. and you NEED
that... anyway.. mine is an HX machine too! he brazed up the hold with
solid brass that he uses on a daily manor.. just do NOT and I repeat..
so NOT let hem soak it in that cleaning solution... you clean it first
soaking in espresso descaler ect... that caustic cleaner they use
would take a year to get out.. fortunately HE told me that...lol and
he didn't clean it out... however.. he did paint it that flat black
which I wished he didnt.. my bad... anyway.. just let them braze it
up.. since they dont do that for a living work on espresso machines..
they will be cheap... like 35 bucks is what I paid.... if I bought a
new boiler.. that would have been about $1100 Ive been using it for
about 2 years since and it runs perfectly.. I did have to buy a new
heating element.. he told me, he had to braze it with it installed so
it didn't warp and not seal when time to replace or reinstall... so
about 6 months after.. it gave out.. so have an extra heating element
handy.. they can be had for the pasquini fo about 75 bucks I think....
so.. 100 bucks and YOUR IN! well and some elbow grease.. lol I also
did have a Pasquini Livia.. everything is quite compact in there...
great machine.. its worth fixing for 100 bucks or so!
