Topic: Costa Rica R.I.P. Red Honey Coffee (3 msgs / 57 lines)
1) From: Larry Williams
Has anyone roasted this bean? I have an IR2, but am afraid to try it
because of the chance of fire, so this appears to be a good candidate
for HG/DB.

I roasted some today in a Hottop drum roaster. The parchment baked onto the
beans and there was almost no chaff so I think there probably is less of a
fire hazard with this bean than a regular one with chaff.

3) From: Larry Williams
Roasted 100 gms of the Costa Rica R.I.P. in the IR2 using visual means
to determine the roast. Finished at FC+ and with a 24 hour rest,
brewing with my Melitta pour through, and the result was very good. No
bitterness, or burnt taste, just a nice mellow taste. One piece the
chaff in the filter. Uneventful roast - no flames...
