Hi,
I just bought an Alpenrost from DailyGrind.com, but, no one ever knows
how long a thing like that has been in stock on a shelf. How can one
tell which version of roaster one has (new, old, or now v.3 as recently
noted in a post here)?
Thanks,
Lucy Peters

Since you didn't buy it from Sweet Maria's you might direct your question to
the daily grind!

From what I've read about the new Alp's limited availability, I'd say you
have a good chance that it's not the new improved version.
I haven't seen anything (yet) that would physically tell us which one is old
versus new (maybe Tom knows). I have an old one and would be happy to
compare any exterior differences or markings with someone who has the new
one.
