Topic: Mazzer minis burrs (6 msgs / 193 lines)
1) From: peterz
My Mazzer Mini showed up, brand new, about 4 years ago (how time flies)
Just after I went through a light progression of "less bad" grinders.
Yup, The list talked me into it before I had bought way to many 'almost
good enough' grinders; and I thought long and hard in choosing between
it and the Rocky.
Be that as it may, the list has again talked me into the realization
that, although I grind just for the two of us, the burrs may need a'
changin'. Must be a few hundred pounds by now, at least.
So, where do I get new burrs?
The recent discussions have left me less than enthusiastic about buying
new burrs for it.
Gosh, even though it has seen
(more than)
it's share of rocks, pebbles and wire, I almost feel that it would be
useless to try to order new burrs that may be as bad as the one I have now
( only four years old ya know),
and it only jammed (stopped and had to be disassembled) on a rock about
three times now, and wire only once.
Is there anyone out there who would sell me burrs that have been handled
properly and made correctly in the first place.
I do not like the idea of hearing new burrs clank together when I carry
them in from the mail box.
Has anyone changed their Mazzer Mini burrs and been happy with the new
burrs when they did it?
Thanks for all the great help and suggestions,
PeterZ

PeterZ,
I've recently replaced the burrs in my Mini. I believe I got them
from EPNW and they came in a blister pak with Mazzer branding on the
pak. If you have any concerns, I'd ask Devon (the parts guy) at
800-459-5594 prior to placing an order.

Real Mazzer burrs come shrink packed on a card stamped with the
Mazzer logo and don't rattle. I got my Mazzer burrs from
phaelon56 who sells on eBay and I would recommend without
reservation.

I did a quick google and found an ebay guide for Mazzer grinders. It said "
OEM burrs are rated for over 600 pounds of coffee beans before needing to be
replaced". You may want to take a look in the grinder's User Guide assuming
it has one.
