Topic: Blending left-overs (4 msgs / 83 lines)
1) From: Seth Grandeau
I was reviewing my stash and saw that I have many lots with 1/4 lb or less
(left overs from samplers and from my IR2 days). I was thinking of mixing
them and taking them to vienna for a "dark roast" loving friend of mine.
However, I thought I'd ask the group, in case any of these would go better
together, perhaps at lighter roast levels. Here's what I've got:
Tanzania NgoroNgoro Convent Zimbabwe AA - Dandoni Estate Guatemala FTO
Huehuetenango - Asobagri Mexico FTO Oaxaca Pluma Sulawesi Enrekang "Mount
Alla" Sumatra 19+ TP - Lake Tawar Sumatra Aged Mandheling '04 crop Sumatra Blue
Batak "Tarbarita" Peaberry Brazil Organic Fazenda Jacaranda
Looking forward to the group's advice!
-Seth

That way its always unique and lots of fun.
"Remember the '07 Christmas blend? that was really good"
but, it is rarely repeatable....

All post roast blended here is what I would suggest:
Blue Batak and Mex Pluma at 1:1e%
Guat Huehue at 25%
Dandoni Estate at 10%
Kevin's suggestion was nice also.
(BTW list... I'm still around just busier than ever. But on a good note I should be roasting commercially around the first of next year.)

Kevin,
I took your advice and made christmas blends for gifts. I mixed the 4
Indonesians, and roasted them to FC+ as my Komodo Dragon Blend (I know it's
not an original name, but hey, I like it and I've actually been to Indonesia
and seen Komodo Dragons). :)
The 5 Central/South American and Africans were roasted to FC as my Feliz
Kwanzaa Blend.
I tried some of the latter this morning and liked it. Winey with a little
bit of chocolate. Giving both away to friends and family for Christmas.
