It seems that my previous message with picture of the Norelco 12 I picked up
has not circulated. It was probably too silly. Please ignore it (unless you
want to see what the device is like). I guess I should have just figured
out how to use it myself as I did this morning... about as complicated as
putting a plug in the outlet to work an appliance or replacing a light
bulb... duh... My big project for today is to figure out how to turn the
lights on in my house...
Interesting to see the difference between the Norelco 10 and the 12 that I
have. Both are 1500 watts and are the same size, but I think the 10 gets
water slightly hotter --almost scalding--. The construction is only very
slightly different and probably a meaningless difference. The glass in the
carafe also seems to me just ever so slightly lighter. The Norelco 10 must
be an earlier vintage and it seems just slightly more substantial. Both
produce good coffee.

You can't attach pictures to posts and send them to the list, they will be
automatically rejected. If you want people to see pics, you have to place
them on a website and send a link.

Thanks. It was a silly message anyway.

Nothing wrong with silly messages, IMHO.

I don't think it was a silly message. Periodically there is an
extensive discussion on the list regarding coffee brewers, so it is a
topic of interest. As I mentioned in my initial reply, there is a
1970s model Norelco drip machine at my family home in Wisconsin and
though I have never measured temps on it, I think it probably is a
well-engineered machine that does a good job of extracting coffee. A
year or two ago, it seems, someone else mentioned the old Norelco
brewers, so there may even be some precedent.
