As you can tell from the tag, I've had some caffeine this morning and am
feeling pretty good! Hope everyone is having a nice Thursday morning.
In case you're curious, and even if you aren't, I had 2 cups of coffee so
far today. One was the Guatemala Finca Agua Tibia (C+) from Saturday.
 Delicious, light, delicate.
The second was the Ethiopian Koratie WP that I roasted yesterday to a City.
Mmmm... Actually it was better hot, fresh out of the MP, and as it cooled
it showed a bit of "edge" that I didn't much care for. I suspect that it'll
be great in 2 more days...
And a bit later on today I'll probably make some of the Colombia Huila
Buenvista 4star.
Hope your days are looking as good as mine.
peace

My 5yo is in kindergarten this year. His bus is early (for us) so
I've been getting up early with him, seeing him off on the bus, then
heading in to work, and letting the wife and his two younger brothers
sleep in.
The grinder sometimes wakes up his 3yo brother, so I head down to the
basement to grind.
Today as I was reaching for the lightswitch to see my way down the
stairs to the basement, I slipped.
Cheapie grinder is okay, but my Yemen Sana'ani scattered all over the
place.
And my elbow and big toe hurt.
Ah well. Will have to roast more today, I guess.

I am drinking a Nicaragua that is a "non" Sweet Marias coffee this
morning. It is good and was sent to be by the direct importer. Good
is tough when you are used to awesome and great. I am going to try to
help this guy with some roasting profiles to try to help this bean
shine a little more as it is a humanitarian project that he and a
group are working on to help some of the folks out down there.

My cup is a mix of beans that were left in the bottom of the bags ... very
good, but it'd be much better if I had some high notes too, maybe some
Kenya?
I've gravitated away from high tone coffees for some reason ... almost all
of my beans are bass notes.

Hi Gang,
I just joined the list this week and am finding you all interesting and amusing so far! I have been roasting for about a year and a half. I have an iRoast2 to roast and a Technivorm and Baby Gaggia for producing.
I also had Ethiopia Koratie WP this morning that was fantastic! I roasted to C+ on Saturday, so it was a little past its best but still very good.
Good to meet you all and I hope to be able to contribute (if I can!) :-)
 Jeff

Real toasty nuts and smooth-as-butter shot, these last of the roasted Brazil
beans. Does this taste ever last and last... Really pushed a few snaps of
2nd to FC
Last night, I purposely brewed a gorgeous Moka of the Brazil CSDMF into a
steamed Nissan insulated s/s travel mug. It's the most relaxing drink, and
doesn't leave your stomach with several oz of pasta or Spanish rice to
digest. The rest of the Moka got steamed into an Americano for the a.m.
starter.
Wurkt good. Now have to roast something for whatever is next-
Cheers, Mabuhay and Magandang Umaga -RayO, aka Opa!
Got Grinder?

Had a regular cup of Guatemala Finca San Jose Ocana, an FC-ish roast
with 2 days' rest...yum! Will give it a go as an espresso tomorrow.

Love it brewed. Haven't been as pleased with it as spro. I think it needs to
be pulled cooler than 203. May move it down to 200.
