Topic: Gah! Been off the list for a week! (9 msgs / 192 lines)
1) From: Kris McN
Somehow, my list settings got sent to "No Mail", so I haven't received any
list mail since last week!! I was lonely without you guys, let me tell
you. I never changed the setting, heck, I haven't even been to the settings
page since I originally signed up, so I have no idea what happened. I
assumed the list was down at first, so I waited patiently. And waited, and
waited... Finally I emailed SM's and Derek hooked me up again. The
archives on The Meyers don't have the last week up yet, and I can't get the
archives link via SM's to go anywhere, so I have no idea what's gone on the
last week. If anyone was addressing me directly, I'm sorry I didn't
respond. Anyone want to forward me all the list posts since 5:02 pm last
Thursday?
I'm glad to be back! I missed you guys!!

Kris -
Ah - so that's what you meant when you asked in Facebook what was up w/the
list!
I just figured I didn't notice that things were slow - glad you realized the
glitch.... I think
I'd get worse withdrawal without this list than I would without caffeine!!

SHhhh! Retardation is not as bad as it's cracked up to be. I had started to
respond to one of your posts earlier today. Canned it when I checked and
realized how tardy I was reading your original message in the first place...

I'm kinda thinking that the list itself cut me off, since I was shushing
everyone about the Guatemala DP Oriente (so there wouldn't be a run before I
ordered more).
Oh Mighty List, I pledge to never shush anyone onlist for selfish reasons
again!
What were you going to respond, RayO? It'll be new to me!
Best,

You all have my blessing to make a run on the DP Oriente. 55 lbs on
hand with no regrets. I love the fig-raisin base note with no
acidity. It's not complex, but neither am I :-)

I got in on the wheat grinding subject, and I did send a response to it.
Don't worry about any Coffee List Polizei that cruise the network of 1's and
0's with a big shorting switch. Tom said it won't happen without discussion
and foreknowledge.
The Guatemala DP Oriente stock hasn't been obliterated so far- there are no
current limits posted. What a glowing write up Tom posted. It ain't you,
babe!

That was me, the other Kris, who asked about the wheat grinding. And RayO, thanks for your reply. I ground about 1 cup each in my two hand crank mills, then moved on to Rocky. Rocky did a fine job and I made 2 lovely loaves of fresh-milled 100% whole wheat bread yesterday. Now I have to add wheat berries to my pantry stock along with green coffee beans. I am from Sumner County Kansas, which claimed to be the wheat basket of the world when I was a kid (not sure if they still make that claim) and I've already instructed my mom to procure local wheat for me. I'll see her at Thanksgiving (we both drive to Colorado to meet) so I'll get my wheat supply then. Until that time, I'll have to make do with what local health food stores have in stock.
I received my latest SM shipment yesterday and must head out to roast now. Espresso consumption has increased significantly since the debut of Salvatore! Husband is traveling next week, so I've got to fix up a coffee kit for him to take along too.

Kris,
Ray mentioned some difficulty cleaning his Mazzer after grinding
grain. Did you have trouble cleaning Rocky after grinding wheat?
