Topic: Was New name for Ohana - Political cup (9 msgs / 143 lines)

This talk about a name change for Ohana reminded me of an idea that I had a
couple of weeks ago. For the final 2 weeks leading up to the Presidential
election, you could feature special cups of coffee honoring the candidates.
I intend these to be humorous and don't want to start any political
discussion.
The McCain offering was easy to name: "The Straight Talk Espresso" named
after his famous tour bus. It would be a straight shot of espresso.
It was much more difficult to come up with a clever name for Obama's drink,
but since you are still using the Ohana name I thought that you could make a
"Barak Ohana" which would be a tall black Americanno from Hawaii. For the
conspiracy theroists, you could wisper, "You know this blend is part Arabic
coffee."
This last part is just a joke. Please don't flame me.
Of course, maybe the last thing you want is another reminder after
continuous politics for over two years. Personally I can't wait until it is
over and we can begin to concentrate on the 2012 election.

With the way the primaries are going, the primary season for the 2012
election should start pretty soon.

With the way the debates went, I think we would need some dull
low-grown coffee for these blends. By the way there is actually a
really neat little coffee place:http://www.bipartisancafe.com/with this theme. Stumptown does a custom blend for them for each
"party" and I think Obama has Kenya in it but no Hawaii coffee since
Stumptown wont buy any... McCain blend has some really nice Panama in
it ...

As luck would have it I was in Reno this weekend and went to the Obama rally and he drinks fresh brewed coffee---not chain coffee. I was 6 rows away and could actually smell the coffee in a plain paper cup---no logos. I'm no expert but it did smell like a dark roasted blend and definitely black for me to smell it.
much karma,

Not serious, but in the light of "...feature special cups of coffee honoring
the candidates." You could feature a McDreck or OB special. (I thought OB
Beer was hideous and got to experience a Korean jail for expressing same-)
That party went straight to Blazes. -ro
