Topic: Diedrich vs USRC 1 pounders > Newbie to List (41 lines)

I was going to say Diedrich advantage designed to run on 15A 110v, which is
also it's disadvantage. IE, under powered especially compared to USRC with
it's gas burner. BUT if happen to check Diedrich site you'll find a new
comparison, Diedrich 1 pounder temporarily discontinued and all inventory
sold out so couldn't order one if you wanted to! (My guess is they finally
figured out it needed more burner power so going back to the drawing board.)
Now just to be fair you couldn't order a USRC .5k from "stock inventory"
either, they're strictly custom built to order, but you definitely can order
them.
FWIW if accustomed to grill/drum roasting you gotta throw what you know
about needed BTU's for roasting out the window, throw it really far! You
don't need 35 to 50k BTU for even 8# roasts! (USRC 3k and 25k burner) The
USRC .5k little guy's 5k burner is anything but under powered capable of
10min 1# roasts if want 'em that fast.
Now back to vac packing then freezing 40# of boneless skinless chicken
breats picked up on sale $0.99#. FoodSaver's aren't just for coffee! :-)
