Topic: Trader Joe's Espresso Pillows (6 msgs / 79 lines)
1) From: Zara Haimo
While standing in line to checkout at TJs yesterday, I spotted a little tin of "Espresso Pillows". Despite the odd name, they are a dangerous treat - it's impossible to have only one. The label says that they are bits of espresso beans mixed with toffee and covered in dark chocolate. Each one is about the size of a roasted bean. I nibbled on them while I was pulling my first shot this morning - delicious combination of flavors! If you like chocolate/coffee candies and shop at TJs, pick up a tin.

We were just at Trader Joe's in Centreville, VA a few days ago, and I
did not see those or I would have picked them up. It is a two hour
drive for us from Charlottesville, but we have family nearby. Maybe
another reason to visit!

They were buried on the bottom shelf of one of the display racks near the
checkout at the Trader Joe's near me. They are in the kind of flat round
tins that often have mints or other hard candies. I only noticed them
because another shopper pulled some out and I saw the word espresso on the
label and wondered what they were.

Every Trader Joes varies in their inventory. I've got three nearby (within 5
miles) and they carry somewhat different stock. For instance, one of the
pasta's I like can only be found at one of them. The wine list varies with
each one, only one carries the Casa Diablo (Sp or close, a Chilean red) red
I like. There is some overlap with Cost Plus World Market. Check them out.
I'm dreading the day I move from Southern Cal back to Minnesota. They just
got their first TJ's. Don't know if I can make it without them.

If they sell espresso beans, methinks you will thrive without them. -ro
