I've upgraded my HT over the last few years from the original to the current
programmable. It's still the same chassis, only the circuit boards have
changed - that says a lot about the build. Other than emptying the chaf tray
after every load, I brush between the drum and the body and dump out chaf
from the body by turning it upside down and vigorously shaking and tilting
several times until I can't hear anything moving inside every four loads or
so. I've cleaned / scraped the drum a couple of times in over 5 years. And
I've had better than excellent support from them.
I like it because it is very easy going and doesn't need lots of attention.
Once you fiddle with the various parameters and get to know it you have very
good repeatability, but you need to take into consideration the weight of
the load. You'll need different profiles for say, 300gm and 220gm loads.
Having said all that, I normally only roast twice a week tops.
If I lost this one I'd buy another one in a heart beat.
