Topic: Extraordinary Hottop Repair Support Noted (4 msgs / 108 lines)
1) From: Jim Farris
For over a year my Hottop KN-8828B performed with no problems. Then it quit functioning properly. Rather than ship it back, I emailed the company for assistance in my troubleshooting and repairing the problem.
They complied, I repaired the unit with replacement parts but shortly thereafter had another problems. Again, by both email and telephone the company helped my troubleshooting and repairing the unit with a replacement part, and it is now again working like new.
The dedication of Hottop USA in helping me through this step-by-step, the on-line instructions and photographs that assisted me and the telephone assistance -- ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON FOR PITIFUL SAKES -- is a type of standing behind their product that I thought had long since disappeared with my youth.
I've long been singing the praises of the quality of this roaster at this forum, but I now feel I have to similarly applaud the support provided.

4) From: Elliott H. O'Reilly
In the 3½ years that I've had the Hottop, roasting several times a week, I
have not had to test their service. I did have to replace the heating
element in May which had started warping and I cracked it bending it back.
They had it to me in 2 days and I had no problem following the installation
instructions on the website.
In looking back on when I purchased my Hottop, I got curious about what my
Google search back in 2001 that landed me at sweetmarias.com had cost me.
It seems that with my last order I have passed the $5000 mark (my wife will
not see that figure!). A small sum in fact when you consider that in Feb.
2000 I had quit smoking, an addiction that had cost me far more. After
quitting as my taste buds began to recover from the damage of smoking I
discovered something new in my life: taste! Like in the Campbell's
commercial I have discovered that I like the taste of taste. Now I have
been able to effectively rationalize away the cost of my homeroasting habit
not only for my own enjoyment but as an investment in Ben Otto Owen's
college education fund. Now I just have to find a physician to prescribe
caffeine as a medication for my ADHD so I can add it to my medical
deduction!
It's time to start my holiday roasting. May everyone have a wonderful
holiday season with dreams of sugarplums and the aroma of freshly brewed
homeroast!
