Topic: Out of Lurk Mode *Tradition Offering* (3 msgs / 85 lines)
1) From: Jerry Procopio
About 10 days ago I received an e-mail from Lynne (the sweetie)
wondering if I was ok. The short answer is "yes", the long answer is
"I'm just a lazy old fart". I've been in Lurk Mode since about April
and while I have known for a long time that "work expands to fill the
time alloted", I seem to have figured out a way to increase the work,
decrease the time and still accomplish little or nothing! I've still
been home roasting, still been drinking coffee; still learning, still
enjoying. I still get regular orders in to SM, although not as often as
before. The Technivorm and Bricoletta get fired up every day (and used)
and I am roasting at least twice a week. JavaJerry's custom roasted
coffee business is off about 50% form this time last year, but that
isn't necessarily a bad thing.Anyway, for what it is worth, I'm back.
Now for the Tradition Offering. Shortly before I left I won battery
operated pot stirrer as a Tradition from PeterZ. I don't think I ever
reciprocated as the *tradition* tradition calls for. My next door
neighbor and her friend held a garage sale recently and one of the items
her friend offered for sale was an espresso machine. I asked how much
she wanted and she said "Ten bucks and it's yours". Sold American!
So here it is. Krups Novo 3000 Premium FNC3. If you want to see
pictures here's a link to one I saw on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Krups-FNC3-11-Novo-3000-Premium-Pump-Espresso-NEW-9009_W0QQitemZ150315800038QQcmdZViewItem
I fired it up and tested it briefly, just to make sure it works. The
winner will get their own opportunity to "master" their barista skills,
i was just interested in seeing if it operated. It comes with an
operating manual, pressurized portafilter with single and double
baskets, non-pressurized portafilter for use with the pod basket, a
couple plastic scoops and a brush.
Those interested in venturing over to the dark side, contact me OFF LIST
at either JavaJerry or cafehombre I will be drawing
the winning name from an ugly golf hat on Sunday, December 21 during
halftime of the Sunday Night NFL game. I'll ship worldwide, but don't
expect delivery by Christmas.
Good Luck,
JavaJerry
