I needed to press a little extra Ethiopia Organic DP Dale Yirga Alem through
the Aeropress this morning and follow it with an SM Moka Kadir latte because
I stayed up late finishing Anthony Capella's new book, "The Various Flavors
of Coffee." It's historical fiction set in turn of the century London and
uses the coffee trade as a background for romance. Perhaps I will try to
post a short review.
I was disappointed about the shuttering of the Coffee Convo web site and the
discontinuance of Tony's podcast, so I went looking for a substitute and
came across In My Mug, a video podcast from Stephen Leighton of Has Bean
Coffee in the UK. You can find it on iTunes or at www.inmymug.com
although that site seems to be down today. Each week he chooses a different
coffee, discusses the origin, shows the green beans and the roasted beans,
puts his nose in the ground coffee and then tastes and describes the brewed
coffee. Last night's podcast shows him sitting in front of his newly
acquired 12k Probat and cupping the Guatemala Finca San Francisco
Tecuamburro. Very entertaining. If you check out Episode 9, you will hear
a little about his visit with Joe Behm and see the 240 volt Behmor (it's
green, and I hear the 220v version is red).
What coffee podcasts are you listening to?
