You won't regret the decision. I went from an iroast to a hotop myself.

Barry,
Did you find any of the IR2 profiles to be transferable to the HT? Not
so much exactly, as I know that is probably not going to happen, but the
way the temperature slopes worked? I have many pages of temp readings
vs. time, etc. from the IR2. The reason that I ordered 5 lbs of the Don
Pepe Vocancito with the HT is that it is a bean that is consistent in
the IR2, and I nail that roast most of the time, so I feel I know the
characteristics of the bean. (and I happen to like it a lot!) If I can
find the corollary between the IR2 and HT with it, I may be able to
apply it to the other roast profiles I have. Heh, I hope it is not a
pipe dream, but even if it is, it will be fun trying to figure out.
Best Regards,
Ken B

Didn't even try. Started from the beginning. My first roast was better than
anything I ever got out of the iroaast. Can.t beat drum roasting over fluid
bed plus external cooling. When you dump the roast it's over it's over.
There is little coast time.
