AMAZING!!! That's great news -- for Christmas or any other time. Wow,
Jerry, you are too generous.
The dark side awaits! (Of course, my wife may want to put out a contract on
you! I'll guard your name from her.)
Many thanks, Jerry, and Happy Holidays to everyone!

Ah, thank you, Jerry!!! What a sweet Christmas surprise! Yep - still same
address...
Just got to my emails - I've been getting over a horrid infected tooth that
has to be pulled (hooray for antibiotics!), and along with all the holiday
stuff, I haven't been reading my emails.
Now that I'm starting to feel better (although I will have to have this
tooth extracted next week, ugh), I'll be offering one of my own traditions
soon. Need to pass on some of this kindness!

Happy New Year to all. Hoping 2009 will bring the best for each of you!
I want to take another opportunity to thank JavaJerry for his great
tradition of the Krups Novo espresso machine. I received the Krups, along
with an unexpected bonus--a bag of JJ's fresh-roasted Special Blend to
practice/experiment with--on Tuesday.
Yesterday evening and again today, I had some time to begin learning about
the Krups. The machine, which looks like new, works fine. So far, I haven't
quite been able to get the ideal espresso volume/timing. I tend to get 2 to
2 1/2 oz. in about 20 sec. with the single basket. I think this is mostly
the fault of my Trosser grinder, which doesn't grind quite as fine as I (and
the Krups) would like.
However, the results I have gotten so far, even if not quite as intense as
could be, are nonetheless delicious! Jerry, your Special Blend is
outstanding.
Now to start thinking about what I can offer as a followup
tradition...hmmm...

John,
I don't know if the Trosser will take this or not, nor if it will even
help, but you might try running the grounds thru the grinder twice (till
you find something that works better). It might just make it fine
enough. Oddly, I have never pulled a shot with a single basket, I have
always used the double (except for the couple times I tried a triple
with disappointing results).
Good luck and Happy New Year
Jerry
