I got up early and made a good pot in the Chemex. If the others don't
soon get up, they can drink it cold.
Happy Christmas to all.

Merry Christmas!
I am visiting my sister's family in Kalamazoo. Today I will make Kenya
Thulka, roasted to C+ on 12-18-08. I gave my sister a set of 10-oz
double-walled blown glass mugs and we are having great fun trying
various hot beverages, not the least of which were coffee and mulled
wine, in the new mugs. Nothing like a new toy!

Merry Christmas to everyone! I am drinking a friends' roast of Costa Rica
and Panama that he cooked up in his IR2 on the 22nd. I think it's a 50-50
blend, and I brewed it in my moka pot. I love these high acidity coffees in
the MP! Citrusy and florally. Will be going to some cousins' later in the
day. Oh, and the next MP is Ethiopian Kembata DP on 2 days rest.
Peace

Merry Christmas (and happy fourth candle)! We're taking friends out
today. Last night we stayed in and I made prime rib (a free range
Cornish hen for my father-in-law, the "kosher Catholic"), sauteed
Brussels sprouts with bacon (Dad's just steamed with olive oil and sea
salt), couscous, pear/walnut/dried cranberry/Gorgonzola salad with
sherry-walnut vinaigrette, flambeed plum pudding with hard sauce,
glogg, and for Dad, mulled apple cider (soft, of course). Somehow,
nobody wanted coffee till this morning.......

Merry Christmas to all! Today I am drinking a blend of 4 parts Sumatra Lake
Toba 19+ Extra Bold, 1 part Yemen Mokha Mattari, and 1 part Java Kajumas
Curah Tatal - the current varietal variation of what I call my House Blend.
Elliott O'Reilly
p.s. I played Santa the other day as I delivered coffee bribes to 4 of my
local police officers. I've done it for several years. It was interesting
to find out that a new Neighborhood Policing Officer that I had not met yet
had already heard about the local resident with the homeroasted coffee! I
figure it doesn't hurt for them to have a reason to protect my home!

16) From: Sandy Andina
As I was iced in yesterday and couldn't shop for last-minute gifts, I
ordered my friends some stuff on Amazon.com and as "placeholder" gifts
roasted some Harar Horse (1 lb., P4, 8 "+" clicks, then at one minute
remaining max out the time). I warned them not to grind it until it
begins to smell like blueberry muffins.

18) From: an iconoclast
With 4 feet of snow on the ground here in Zigzag and more than a foot in
Portland, we postponed our Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We managed to
get our kids and grandkids up yesterday afternoon with chains on, chains off
procedure. Power was out 2 hours before they got here and 4 hours after they
got here, but we have a generator to keep the woodstove fan, microwave and
lights going. Power came on in time to start my usual spaghetti and
meatballs to simmer all night. I made a third of what I usually make as no
other family left their homes today. Luckily, we got our shopping done weeks
ago except for a few things Dan picked up on the way getting the kids here.
We'll do Christmas Eve and Christmas next week with the rest of the family
when the rains come instead of the snow. This is the most snow we've ever
had. I ache from shoveling.
We had our first Behmor roast of Java Kajumas Curah Tatal this am and it was
delicious!
Take care and have a safe holiday.

Ann,
What a season for snow huh? Here just NW of Milwaukee we're up to our
waists trying to come up with creative ways of moving the mounds around. Oh
well, whatchya going to do. Sure is beautiful to look at from inside
though, sitting by the fire, with your favorite coffee.
The Behmor should be here Monday or Tuesday, we're looking forward
to experimenting with it.
Take care All, be safe!
