Topic: iRoast2 'pot' abend (2 msgs / 40 lines)
1) From: Doug Hoople
Hi All,
Please forgive me if this has been asked before. I'm still insufficiently schooled in the ways of archive searching on this board.
Just had a batch of Sulawesi Toraja Sapan-Mananga go belly up when the 'pot' sensor tripped on my iRoast2 with about three minutes left to go.
The iR2 seems to go through mood swings, and sometimes trips a lot. I've had it since last June, and I go through clusters of incidents. For about a month now, it's been great, but suddenly it seems back to its delicate and sensitive ways.
I've developed the habit of checking that the pot is seated mid-roast, but that didn't seem to help this time.
Has anyone else experienced this problem with the pot sensor? Is there a trick I should know for preventing it? Is it something that I should consider submitting for repair?
TIA for the information.
Doug

Doug-
I've had my iRoast for about 3 years and just bought another due to
the first taking a tumble down some stairs. In that time, I've never
had that issue happen during a roast. There is definitely something
amiss. Either bring it in for repair, or, what I would do, is try to
tinker with the locking mechanism on the base. It may just need to be
tweaked a bit. Good luck,
Rich M
