Topic: Roasting the Nicaragua Limoncillo Pacamara DP in a (29 lines)
1) From: Ben Lowery
Greetings,
Just finished up a first roast of the Nicaragua Limoncillo Pacamara DP
and wanted to share what I learned. Roast notes and graph are
available[1], if you're into that kind of thing.
Roasted only 230g, as I only picked up a pound and 230 splits it
evenly. FC is pretty quiet and starts slowly and ends slowly. SC
starts at around 433 in my HotTop, I killed it at 438.
The one thing to look out for: this is a large large large bean! It
actually hung up in the HotTop's ejection door a bit and took a fair
bit longer to clear the roaster than most beans I've done. Next time I
roast it, I might kill the roast a tick early just to allow for the
clearing to happen. The beans that come out last were definitely a bit
past the early ones, but all in all it looks great.
The smell coming off the roaster is amazing. :) Smells like dark, sweet fruit.
