I recently got a GC, and have read that some people preheat the cyclind=
er prior to adding the beans.  My question is how hot to preheat, and how=
does this affect your subsequent roast profile?

Thanks,

JB,
I just turn it on for five minutes before I put any beans in and start the real cycle.
If I'm just doing a single roast I don't need to pre-heat. But I usually roast two or three roasts back to back, and
this ensures that the first roast starts out with a heated cylinder. Otherwise I'll end up having to change the
profilesfrom the first roast to the later ones to compensate.
HTH,
Frank
