Clearly you haven't used one. Have run into only one person who had
one that didn't think it was the best. Try it.

I owned a SE-30 back in the day and support customers with both Macs
and PCs. My wife has a Mini running Tiger. It's cuter and for the
time being maybe less likely to get infected, but it breaks too and
Apple hid all the important stuff to make it look easy. I can do more
on my wife's Mac than she can and she uses it every day which is
typical of almost all PC and Mac users. It's pretty, it's got lots of
built in cool consumer friendly stuff that makes people fall in love,
but it's still just a computer.
My own personal problem with Macs is I'm a developer and my customers
and most of the world uses PCs so it's easier to make money with a
PC. If I had found suitable tools back when I was working on that
SE-30 I might have gone a different direction, but there was no money
so not much incentive for people to build the high level tools I was
looking for.

Ira,
Thanks for the clarification on your present and past POV. On these
list and in everyday conversation it is important to understand that
the comments we make are based on our total life experiences. Skewed?
By all means. Very personal? Absolutely. Agreeable to most? Most often
not because we have not walked in your shoes.
It's one thing to learn to drive a car. It totally different to
understand the engineering that went into building it. A rough analogy
bur I think I'm on the same track Ira. Since 1985 I have always built
my own pc because I knew what I wanted under the hood and I never
considered a mac because building from parts and pisces was not and
never will be an option.
Different platforms for different folks. Very similar to taste in coffee.

The latest MAC OS will run natively on PC hardware, IF you know how.
But Steve will be upset if he catches you.

Yes, and according to many tech several of which are pro Apple. The knowing
how has to do with a trick or two that, as has been put to me) leaves you a
mouse click away from a total system crash.
