What a day in homeroast land!
First, after weeks of looking for a back up Poppery, what should I spy
in my local thrift shop? And at $4.00. I think I'm driving the market
up. I purchased three there since December, the first was $2.00, the
second was $3.00 and now this one is even more....
Second, I'm roasting a bunch for a trip to the home office in St Paul
next week. The digital thermometer I got from SM has made a huge
difference in my roasting today. I had been using a dial thermometer,
but the calibration kept going wonky with the vibration of the P II.
That was the best $30.00 I have spent on equipment.
Roasted 4 batches each off Kenya Ndaroni, Panama Boquete Lerida Estate
Peaberry, and the now legendary Blue Krishna. 100 g batches.
For the first time, time, temp, crack and aroma started to make sense!
Oh, so that's what city looks like..... I was way over roasting
before.
The star of the show was the Blue Krishna. I can't wait to brew some
up. I would describe it as a very pretty bean....
I am one happy camper. I feel like a blindfold has been removed, and I
can now see a path before me....
Just had to share.....
