I can't recall a discussion of the Capresso 490.05, a big stainless steel
coffee maker. I have not heard anything about it and the online reviews I
have read are mixed. I know all about the Technivorns and at least one
other that would be recommended; but I have not heard anything here about
the Capresso (and particularly that model). Would appreciate any
constructive information and advice.

Well, all I know about Capresso is my Aroma Classic which is both
great at brewing coffee, beautiful and long out of production. The
customer service was always beyond reproach, when they stopped
carrying 102 paper filters the sent me a gold one for free. I did
have something burn out in the wiring after 8 years and they couldn't
repair it. No more parts and they won't do anything else because of
liability. I did it myself better than new and it still works fine.
though I mostly use an Aeropress now. If you ever see one in a thrift
shop grab it. I paid $99 brand new and today a decent one goes for
$200 on eBay.
