Topic: Monkey Blend espresso with a bunny (3 msgs / 86 lines)
1) From: Michael Wascher
I haven't had any Monkey Blend for a while, roasted a batch to barely
Vienna.
I made a shot. Then raided the Easter basket -- got a little foil-wrapped
chocolate bunny filled with peanut butter. I nibbled the chocolate and
sipped the espresso, an excellent combination!

I'm brand-new to roasting, ala a used i-Roast....and think I over-roasted my
first three tries (Sweet Maria's sampler bag) @
1: 350/3	400/3	470/30sec (v. programmed 2-min)(Kenyan beans
provided by seller of unit)
2: 350/3	400/3	450/1 min. v. 3 min programmed (#2 Auriferous
Espresso)
3: 330/3	375/3	4501 min. v. 3 min programmed (#2 Auriferous
Espresso)
Vienna was I'm shooting for, but all above have ended up like #14 on Maria's
photo matrix....and tasted bitter.
I'm roasting indoors, ambient 67 degrees....not sure what further
adjustments to make....???

While the freezer toss might be a good idea (I haven't tried it),
stopping the cooling cycle on an iRoast is a bad idea and the
manufacturer warns against doing it. The roaster components rely on
the air flow to stay cool in the flood of radiant energy inside the
roaster. Stopping the roaster before the cooling cycle is done will
shorten the life of the unit. At any rate, the cooling cycle of the
iRoast is more than adequate to stop the roast on a dime.
