Jim, best wishes on speedy recovery. I don't post often but I sure
learn a lot from
all the reading. Do we need to send you some quality roasted instead
of whatever that
hot brown water stuff is in the hospital.

Wanda,
Thanks for the offer but I have actually roasted a pound and a
half with my heat gun and a bowl with a spoon. We have also ordered a
roaster, my wife ordered it when she first heard informally that I was
going to live even though it was a couple of days before the doctor
actually told me. One of the problems is that during this illness we
have had loads of rain and I had left my roasting equipment out so
most of it is ruined. When she first heard I was going to live, my
wife ordered the Behmor 1600 Electric Roaster to make up for all the
rain ruined roasters, I expect it to arrive early next week. I am
improving rapidly, mainly a bit on the weak side but I actually spent
about four hours driving yesterday.
When I start roasting with the Behmor, I will be posting here quite
regularly.
Today I was able to drink a full cup of coffee again, the meds I am
taking have substantially changed how things taste to me and while
coffee still does not taste right, when I tried it today, I was able
to drink a full cup and enjoy it a bit. I will probably have to wait
until I am released from some of the medicines to fully enjoy coffee
again, I am just happy to be able to drink a cup in the morning now.
       Thanks
       Jim Gundlach

Enjoy the behmor. Glad to hear everything cognitively is working well.
I did consult in a childrens hospital for awhile. Some kids were devastated by various forms of encephalitis, including HSV. They'd have to learn again to talk, walk etc...if they even could. They were on the rehab floor for months and months.
You are a lucky man, and had some good docs. Welcome back.
