I'm back to my stand-by blend. 50% Sumatra (this one Lingtong Dolok
Sanggul), roasted FC+, 50% Gesha (Lot 10), roasted C+. It has rested about
3 days. Just an awesome cup. Nice body, nice high notes, a little forest
funk.
What's your favorite blend?

Nice question. I am on a mix kick at the moment, primarily to use up partial bean collections. I just roasted last night sumatran, guat acetenango, kenya and just a touch of rwanda. I'll let you know how it turns out.
One of my favorites so far has been Anokhi 0.5 oz, columbian antioqua 4.5 oz and monsooned malabar 3 oz--sweet, blueberry and some chocolate.

if you like that flavor profile, I'm curious, how do you like the
Guatemala Oriente DP?
I've found some Anokhi notes in that coffee, but it's far more
forgiving.

Not really a blend, but I did a melange of three batches of Misty
Valley, one to Full City+, one to Full City, and one to City+. It's
made for an intoxicating and ridiculously complex cup of brewed
coffee, but the real killer is when it's pulled as SO Espresso.
Heavenly.

50% Sumatra Takengon Classic, roasted to FC+
50% El Salvador Orange Bourbon Cultivar, roasted to C+
Both bought green, from Sweet Maria's, and roasted in a West Bend "Poppery II".

my favorite blend that i haven't been able to repeat (because i can't remem=
ber the other two ingrediants) was Idido Misty Valley 50%, and a Brazilian =
and Guatemalan mixed 25% each. VERY complex and full flavored. =

John,
Wow! Couldn't agree more. Did a melange of IMV C+/FC+ and it was a wonderful
espresso. Good think I have 20 lbs! Wonder how long it will take me to
finish that!

Steve and John,
I had about a pound of that melange that had been rested for two weeks
that I let a buddy pull for me and some other friends yesterday. He's
a barista at a local shop, so I trust him with my beans,
and...well...let's just say I don't know if it's humanly possible to
express enjoyment of espresso more than he did yesterday. If it is,
my imagination says such expression is likely to get pretty
embarrassing ;)
It's pretty encouraging and humbling to have a barista you trust give
you that sort of feedback over a set of roasts you've really worked
hard on to get juuuuuust right. Like miKe says...no shortcuts on the
Journey.
