Topic: Miss Silvia and Blue Krishna (4 msgs / 73 lines)
1) From: Mark Osborne
Hi all,
Roasted some more Blue Krishna on Monday. Pulled the most bizarre shot
this morning. Same grind setting on the Super Jolly, same temp surf,
same shot weight, tamp, as near as I can tell....
fully 3/4 of the double shot glass was filled with crema at about 13
seconds. This settled into a nice single shot volume in about 10 more
sec. Tasted good, not great, and went into the steamed milk for
a decent latte.
I've not seen this before....
Possible causes?
thanks,
Mark

First thing that comes to mind is the beans were not left to rest long
enough. Bali pulls a great shot after at least 8 days rest.

Agreed - or slightly finer on the grind. I like a lot of the SO
coffees at slightly lower water temperature too, not as hot as the
darker roast coffees. It makes a big difference. -Tom
