Yup, have both the Bric' and Linea dialed in ~8.5 bars. Noticable difference
in smoothness (less sharp attack) compared to even 9 bar. I think part of
this trend is because of livelier blends and SO's. The pits is I'd really
like to be running my Delirium blend 8.5 bar and D'Spro blend closer to 9
bar. Unfortunately that type of on the fly flexibility in espresso machines
is just in it's (very expensive) infancy. Got to be careful dropping the
shot pressure though. Go too far and the shots loose clarity, become
muddled.
