Topic: Do not do what I did NOW Preheat on the Behmor (59 lines)

Hello Michael,
You are correct. Some folks have written here about it, so I just wanted to
try it. I have read here that you can roast for about 2 minutes, still hit
Off, and start a new roast without waiting. Anything more than 2 minutes,
you may not be able to start a new roast.
I do 1/4 lb, P1, A, and should set the timer to 2 minutes, and watch it like
a hawk.
After 2 minutes, press Off, and immediately set the program for what you
actually want, and Start.
BehmorThing has this feature built in, so you can use it and set your
preheat time, and the graph will flash at you when you should hit off. It
then continues with your actual roast.
I use P2 predominantly.
If my 1/2 lb of greens normally take 10 min. to get to 1C, then I set the
roaster to 1lb P2 for 16:40, which makes the power drop occur at 10 minutes
elapsed. I typically stop the roast around 14 - 15 minutes elapsed for C+
to FC roasts.
By doing a 2 minute preheat, theoretically, after the 2 minutes, 1C should
start at the 8 minute mark, so I can set the roaster to 1/2 lb P2 13:20, or
1lb P2 13:20.
I should get the same result.
One reason I only roast 1/2 lb at a time is that I couldn't set the roast
time on 1lb P2 long enough to have the power drop occur when 1C would start
with more greens. This method should allow it.
I'm a little too lazy though, I have all my notes and times set for 1/2 lb
and it would be like starting over to roast 12 oz, but I think that is my
ultimate goal.
