Topic: Getting New Espresso Machine -Selling Old One (4 msgs / 134 lines)
1) From: Mike Chester
I received approval from Derek to post this.
After debating with myself for awhile now, I finally decided to buy a new Duetto II, dual boiler machine. I ordered it today, but the new shipment of machines won't be in until September. The Italian factory where they are built closes down for the entire month of August.
This should give me enough time to sell my well maintained Vetrano. This is a direct plumbed, rotary pump HX machine and has the upgraded Jaeger Pressurestat. It is 3 years old, but I have recently replaced most of the components that wear out on espresso machines including:
1. All of the valve seats in the E-61 grouphead have been recently replaced with new viton seals.
2. The seat in the expansion valve was recently replaced.
3. The vacuum breaker valve was recently replaced.
4. The boiler fill valve is new.
5. The rotary pump is new.
6. It has a new group thermometer by Eric.
It functions like new. It comes complete with 2 portafilters, a single and a double basket, a backflush blank, and a flexible braided stainless water hookup line with an adapter to connect to a 3/8 copper or plastic line. I will include a rosewood and stainless tamper if desired. I might even throw in a bag of my special D'OH espresso blend. I will double box everything and ship via UPS or Fed Ex ground or you can pick it up in south central Michigan. (Howell)
I am asking $1100 or best offer + actual shipping costs. Even though my new machine won't arrive for a month, I will sell this as soon as I receive a reasonable offer. I am ordering an Aropress to make faux Americana's until my new machine arrives. I have a Pay Pal account and can accept credit cards through them.
This is still a current model machine and you can see pictures and read the details about it at: http://www.chriscoffee.com/products/home/espresso/vetrano Since Tom does not sell the Vetrano, I hope that he does not mind the link.
If interested, please contact me off list at the above address or my regular email.

Sorry for replying to my own post, but I made a mistake in sending the link
to the dealer's site. I have deleted it from this post and am sending a
review on the Vetrano from HB instead. Sorry for the inconvenience. I will
look at all offers, though I won't accept silly ones.

I have decided that I was asking too much for my used Vetrano Espresso
machine, so I have lowered the asking price to $999 OBO. Please reply off
list to mchet
Thanks.

With the exception of the vertical boiler (mine is horizontal), Mikes
Vetrano looks near-identical to my ECM Venniziano. It's one of the first
machines ECM put out and is still making excellent drinks, and I've never
replaced anything on it except the pressurestat for the boiler, a $30
repair. I think I paid something like $4600 for this machine, so I'm here to
tell you that if Mike's Vetrano is anything like my ECM (which is highly
likely since the parts in about anything with an E61 group are about the
same no matter who makes it from what I've seen of repairing them for the
last ten years), the price he's asking is a steal of a deal.
