Topic: Lubrication for ball bearing in hand grinder (2 msgs / 35 lines)
1) From: Brian Kamnetz
I'm in the process of cleaning up a hand grinder. It has a bearing at
the base of the shaft. I've seen mention made of lubricating these
bearings.... what do people use for lubrication? I have some powdered
graphite, and that seems like it might be good because it wouldn't
attract fines like something goopier would. I also have some
food-grade lubrication that I got at a dive shop. Would either of
these be ok? Would I be better off just leaving the bearing dry?
Thanks for any suggestions.
