Topic: Uses for Bad Coffee (5 msgs / 87 lines)
1) From: Mike Koenig
I used to routinely use cafeteria coffee at work to clean the fluid path of
Atomic Absorption spectrometers. (picture a system that sucks up liquid and
sprays it into a flame). It would clean, and leave behind a layer of oils
that would keep the liquid flowing smoothly.

Am I a bad person if I save a bad roast for mother-in-law visits?

I think the pertinent questions are, "Does she like the "bad" coffee?
If you were to serve her better coffee, would she like it more?"
Les used to talk about this point. If he knows people do not have the
capacity to enjoy better coffee more, he gives them "bad" coffee
(though the worst coffee Les has is pretty good).

not at all. Sadly, my mother-in-law can't distinguish between the stuff =
in the bulk bins at the local grocery store and my city+ to full city home =

HA! I've used coffee to paint scenery. I was recently production designer
and got involved with painting and dressing one particular set which had a
concrete floor and pipes running along the walls. It was dingy and the pipes
leaked, leaving stains on the floor.
Odd, but it seems those pipes were flowing coffee from a famous chain...
Very odd. Looked awesome, though. The director of photography commented on
the disgusting quality of the stains.
