I now have the flu and I noticed I was just about out of roasted
coffee. It made me really appreciate the Behmor 1600.

Ha! Jim, I have a really bad cold - and I also noticed today that I'm almost
out of my homeroast. I will, however, stand at the stove tomorrow for twelve
minutes, stirring, knowing that my reward for this is that blessed, smooth
black gold (hopefully I'll actually be able to taste it after all that..)
Hope you feel better, fast. One word: chicken soup (we just finished a huge
vat I made yesterday!)

A couple of weeks ago, I had the worst cold and sinus infection, so
bad, I temporarily lost my sense of smell, and along with that, of
course, went taste. Instead of drinking my precious home roast, I
drank the slop at work, and also drank green tea (which I don't like
at all). It didn't matter one bit, because I couldn't taste anything.
Roasting coffee in my Behmor was interesting, and I realized how much
my sense of smell did come into play.
Thank goodness the loss was only temporary, from Sunday at noon -
Wednesday morning, not this week, but the week before.
It was so strange because I could breath clearly, I just couldn't
smell anything. A cut onion up to my nose - nothing. Lightly scented
hand lotion that I love - nothing.
What was also amazing was that I enjoyed eating, I enjoyed the
mouthfeel of the food, and even the home roast was better feeling than
the work coffee.
Jim and Lynne, I hope you both feel better, soon. I do! (Finally,
after more than 3 weeks.)

Get well soon everyone.
When I've got a head cold, I don' t feel like even drinking coffee... I
usually switch to hot tea then.
When I want coffee, I know I'm starting to feel better.
