Topic: Turkey day wrap-up (37 lines)

Here's the wrap on Thanksgiving.
While my Wife put on the spread this year with a fall off the bone Turkey,
stuffing, candied Yams and all the rest, I did the coffee. I did a vac pot
with Sumatran, Peru, and Guat (should have gone Single Origin, I think) and
a Clever Coffee Dripper with Decaf Colombian for the mother-in-law.
The coffee was well received, even though it was a real fight just to get
into the kitchen and get a burner or two. I had picked up one of those gas
cookers at an Asian store that they use for hot pots, but the burner stand
is too wide for the vac pot, it's not stable. I could have put the kettle
on this, but I really wanted to use this as a tabletop vac pot stand.
After dinner and desert (I passed on the Coffee Ice Cream because of all the
other deserts we had going including chocolate fondue and ice cream cake),
the grandparents left and I was pressed into cappuccino service (well, I
volunteered) for the Wife, the sister-in-law, and the niece. Everyone was
playing Guitar Hero World Tour (two guitars, drums and a mic so there's
instruments for four). I also got a few espressos in there myself. The base
was Tom's New Classic Espresso which I'm really appreciating now that I've
got a good, slow roast on it. I'll have to order more and maybe try a
workshop. I did try a Guat Maravilla as SO Espresso, but it left me flat
(could have been the light, City roast or the roast profile).
The revelry continued on into the night with anime (Bleach, Naruto, and
Shugo Chara late into the night with the young one).
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
