Topic: speaking of filters.... (9 msgs / 163 lines)
1) From: Bill Johns
I have a Yama vacuum brewer and love it. In a fit of cleaning for the
holidays, I managed to lose the Yama filter, spent more time than I will
admit to looking for it. Grim. I contacted Sweet Maria's to order one
of those neat glass filters and they are out. Even grimmer. Any
suggestions?
Cheers,
Bill Johns

Sorry, I have the little cloth filter, I've mislaid the metal

Bill,
If you send me your address off-list and can wait a few days, I'll be happy
to send you a spare of mine.

I've also never used mine... I eBay'd a Cory rod when I bought the vac
pot from Tom.
If you need, I can mail.

Bill,
I dropped the filter parts in the mail to you today.
We finished off the Ethiopian IMV n the vac pot this morning and I made
another pot this afternoon of Peru FTO San Ignacio Cajamarca. There was
still some fruit left in the IMV, even sixteen days post roast, and the Peru
is a nice, sweet cup.

Aha. A trip through the plumbing aisle might provide some inspiration.
Those perforated metal disks designed to fit over drains to trap stuff
(around my house they grab my shed hairs, 3'+ in length) come to mind as
a possible candidate to hold the cloth filter cover; brass lamp chain, a
paperclip and a spring cannibalized from a cheap hanging scale should
finish your kludge...

Do not forget to check under the kitchen counter.   =
Since I had to remove the base little recessed vertical panel ( kick space =
board ) last winter so that the interior heat woul go there and protect the=
pipes and diswasher pump from freezing I negliged to install it back. =
You would be amazed at the quantity of things that live there. With the=
