When one door closes another door opens. May not be what we thought we
wanted or planned for, yet often better than we could have envisioned in the
long run. And as I've come to believe sometimes the "Man" upstairs has a
sense of humor. For instance the day before Thanksgiving our main home
refrigerator died. Cost $243 to have it brought back to life Friday morning.
Now Black Friday was deader than a door nail the first 7 hours open at
Paradise Cafe. So as "the register rules" all staff had been sent home
leaving me by myself. Then from 2:10 to 3:45, after any predictable lunch
rush could be staffed for, I did more than double the previous 7 hours of
business. I was totally SLAMMED both front of house (beverages) and back of
house (food). I mean, not an empty table for almost 2 hours. The level of
orders should have been staffed by at the minimum two and preferably three.
But oh no, HE decided to make me really work for it all by my lonesome:-) In
that short span of less than two hours took in almost exactly what it cost
to have the refer' fixed. Trust me, I'm NOT complaining. Thinking about does
make me chuckle.
Somebody REALLY WANT a good Coffeehouse in Idaho? GET OFF YOUR BUTT, PUT
EVERY SINGLE THING YOU POSSESS ON THE LINE, PUT EVERY OUNCE OF STRENGTH YOU
HAVE INTO IT UNTIL BEYOND EXHAUSTION AND MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL
BREAKDOWN AND DO IT.
Heaven helps those who help themselves, AFTER you've done everything
imaginable and unimaginable to make it happen yourself, then He'll provide a
way to finish the job.
Success comes in it's own time to those too stubborn and too pig headed to
quit when 99.99% of others would have given up and therefore failed long
ago. Do or do not, there is no try. Yoda had it right.
