Yes, that's essentially what I need: a handle that will permit me to
rack in the PF with my wrist and hand in the "neutral" position, which
is the position an orthopedist will typically put one in for a long-arm
cast. Up or down matters not, but I Imagine the handle going up would
make for easier cup in-out.

I'll check into that, thanks. I know of two shops with LM machines on
the counter, I'll try to get a look and maybe a trial run with one to
see if a LM PF might be an alternative. I don't mind inventing my own
solutions but if somebody already has a wheel I can use...

It's difficult now with the horizontal handle; I can't see things
getting any worse! I'm using a hotpad (or a kitchen towel) over the
back of my right hand to push the PF up into the group, whacking the
handle over with my left elbow then using both hands together to finish
the job. Inconvenient is about the nicest thing I have to say about my
current method but it does get the job done.

Yep, and her solution was for me to figure out I need and then
commission the work at a local machine shop. I think she was expecting
to have to teach me to type, brush my hair, etc. When I showed up with
Miss Silvia and asked for help mocking up PF handle mods she seemed to
be out of her league.
My physical therapist was a bit more helpful and sent me home with some
various bits and bobs to play with but nothing really worked.
I'll chase Mike's suggestion to look at La Marzocco PFs, then I'll see
what master machinist can do for me.
