Topic: Introduction & Alfred Peet (16 lines)
1) From: Robert Yoder
I used to bicycle to the original Peet's in Walnut Square, North Berkeley, CA. I spoke with Mr Peet from time to time. When I complained that a particular roast was too dark, Peet would tell me that he couldn't get his roasting personnel to pay close enough attention to the critical moment at end of roast. This was long, long before Peet's grew more stores, and many folks seemed to accept the dark, oily stuff. I could never understand it. De Gustibus Non Disputandum Est!
Happy Roasting,
