Topic: Old Unimax 2000 (3 msgs / 95 lines)
1) From: TFisher511
My old Unimax 2000 has been sitting in a box in the garage since shortly
after we moved to Florida almost 3 years ago. I finally decided to give it up
and take it to the trash.........but....not before plugging it in one more
time to see if it still worked. Hum, it heated okay and seemed to cool okay
so I decided to give it one more try before giving up my first actual coffee
roaster after using a popper for some time.
Ten minutes through first crack. Quiet, I mean really quiet. I could hear the
cracks much better than the FR+. The roast is even and I like the results.
My Alp is now back in its box and the Unimax is my current roaster of choice.
Darn shame RoyalMax didn't follow up with only minor improvements instead of
leaving the people that bought the Unimax out in the cold. I keep reading
about people trying to reinvent roasters to improve them, now I would really
like to see someone just reinvent and support the Unimax.

Scott, would you please post his future plans. Thanks, Mike

Hi Terry,
I visited the Royalmax factory in Cal. in January. I belive he has
warenteed all the original machines and fixed all the defects. It could be
out of the timeframe he allowed, but I know Dan said he warrenteed all the
original 50 or so machines sold. He's spent the last two years redesigning
the roaster, I was impressed with the improvements he made and the future
plans he has. If you want further information I'll be happy to send it to
you.
