"application"
I just finished my monthly latte ... still have a couple a month... research
purposes, ya know!

Not a problem at all. Powdered Alka-Selser tablet in with the instant
powdered milk. Just add hot instant coffee.

You forgot the important part, insert $2.00 (0.75 for coffee and $1.25
for plastic snob appeal)

Hey!! You might be on to something. We can all start a health trend here! Instead of Alka-selser, use Emergen-C or Airborne!! And make sure you used powdered soymilk! For the kids, perhaps you can toss some pop-rocks into a shot or two and add milk. (The evil gears are turning...)
This reminds me of something.... Am I the only one here that has tired to make an espresso soda? (IE Espresso shots, a little sweetner of your choice and soda water)? Last time I did that it was not pretty....
Normally it is against my religion to dump perfectly good espresso down the drain, but...

Years ago they had something called Fizzies - it was a tablet you'd put in
water & it would make a delicious (cough... gag...cough) sweet drink we'd
have w/our penny candy. Located some a few yrs ago, and was shocked at how
AWFUL the stuff was.
Might go great with this (although I think the pop-rock idea is the best,
haha).

It's possible to buy foaming agents, anti-foaming agents and all sorts of
fabulous things from companies that also sell flavor oils and powders.
I imagine a few web searches and phone calls would locate some interesting
ways to create some "molecular gastronomy" monstrosity that would make
Ferran Adria proud.. Here's one of his recipes: Hot Frozen Gin Fizzhttp://www.starchefs.com/chefs/FAdria/html/pina_colada_f_adria.shtmlcheers,">http://www.starchefs.com/chefs/FAdria/html/gin_fizz_f_adria.shtmlPerhaps spoonful of Pina Colada is another option to adapt to coffee:http://www.starchefs.com/chefs/FAdria/html/pina_colada_f_adria.shtmlcheers,

God was it that long ago. I couldn't wait to get to the corner store for
them...
My mom said we couldn't have the Alkaselser ( I can't spell it ) cause it
was medicine and bought us the Fizzies cause they made us happy and we
didn't bug her about the other.

My mom used to give me a nickel - a nickel mind you! - and me & a friend
would ride our
bikes to our favorite corner store for penny candy, including (what I now
realize are) g-d awful
Fizzies. We lived in Western Mass back then - Turners Falls - have lots of
good memories of
that time.
