There's a sale of Handpresso on www.gilt.com today only. The basic unit is $72 and there's also a nice travel set with cups and a thermal bottle for $145, not cheap, but more than 25% off list prices.

I tried some shots from one several years back at the SCAA convention.
I'm sorry to say that they were really bad...very acidic and lacking
of any other flavor. Maybe it was just my experience, but I would say
they aren't worth the investment.

Ryan,
Trust you can. I met and spoke to the inventor when he was doing an
extensive demo at an Intelligentsia party after some long hours walking the
floor at the SCAA convention. I enjoyed a wonderful drink made by it as
well. I know you can trust it to do what it says it does. Most reports have
been good regarding truth in advertising. If I had a spare few bucks to snag
it on sale I probably would.
Just because I'm a coffee geek of the worst / or best order depending on
which side of the view your on.

Ed is right, this is not an open per se forum. Discussion is a good thing.
Passing on ad's is not. This kind of information should be exchanged off
list.

I would object, but Zara is an old timer on the list. I don't think
she meant it as an ad or spam, simply as a friendly heads up, and SM
doesnt carry handpresso. Gilt looks really cheesy. I would never sign
up no matter what they were selling. When I tried out one it was a
pod-only device but I hear they have a non-pod model now so you can
use your own coffee. A pod only machine is useless. Because it is
hand-pump, it actually makes more sense to me than a mypressi, but it
seems to take a lot of pumping to get up to pressure. I am doubtful
of it...

I thought that the handpresso had been discussed a while ago on the list and
that someone might be interested in adding it to their coffee toys - it was
simply a heads up as Tom suggested. I didn't think Tom carried it and I
have no relationship at all to Gilt which usually sells designer clothing
and jewelry samples.

Why am I sent to a place I must sign up for to buy. Not OK. Sorry Zara and I
am an old timer here as well.
