Hi all!
Still reading but the Behmor is resting during the 90+ degrees summer temps, and this has been the hottest summer recorded. 68 yesterday morning and the B roasted superbly - all 8 batches decaf. It'll last till next cool spell. Can't wait for fall.

Same here in North Carolina. 65 days since June 1st over 90 degrees. Normal is like 23. I have to roast in my garage therefore my new Hottop has only had two roasts in it since I got it last month. Weather is supposed to break tomorrow and I will get to use it.

Here in Las Vegas, my wife puts on a jacket when it drops down to 90. "But
it is a dry heat."

Ha...I have been in Phoenix and Las Vegas when it's 110 and the closest analogy to what I was feeling is a pizza oven!

But with the pizza oven, you at least get.. pizza! Mmm - anyway, I prefer to
NOT be the one being cooked.
I'm saying this as I'm suffering here - landlord decided to get the windows
powerwashed today... humidity is high, as is the temp.. closed windows...
not only that but... I was going to roast coffee this morning since I ran
out completely. Needless to say I couldn't roast with windows closed (except
for roasting me. ugh)
Needless to say, I am not a happy camper right now.
Lynne
(who is happiest when the temp is around 65 degrees with a strong wind).

I've been tempted to build a solar coffee roaster....http://www.lvrj.com/news/vdara-visitor---death-ray--scorched-hair-103777559.html

If I lived in Phoenix I would build one too.

Ditto - B is resting and Gene Cafe is the main roaster with the heat in NC
(I'm in the Charlotte area). I have had good results placing my B on a wire
shelf with a fan underneath. I plan to roast again Wednesday and the temps
should be MUCH better.

I did 8 oz of Yemen Mocha Harazi on Sunday. This was only my third roast in my Hottop B and I am sipping on it now. I love the mysterious flavors of Yemen coffee. Very deep but extremely smooth. Much cooler now...thankfully!
