There is a commercial solar coffee roaster in Colorado. There was a story in the papers with better pictures of their installation, but this is all I can find right now.http://www.denverpost.com/search/ci_8986075Ed

I have been following those guys since they moved from Oregon.
Sun is better in Colorado.

On our drive out to Colorado this past summer we stopped at a coffee shop in Canon City which had solar roasted coffee. It was okay.
Then again, I brought plenty of homeroast with me...that stop was only because I was driving, and had no way to make coffee while on the road...gotta get a 12V hot pot...

There are a couple roasters out there using solar powered machines now.  =
Most of them are very small, doing 2lb batches (I realize this is a home ro=
ast forum, but 2lbs is a nightmare in a commercial operation).  There are=
a few in California, and these guys who used to be in Southern Oregon, and=
had to move to Colorado for better sun (typed while staring at a monoton=
ously gray, damp and rainy Pacific Northwest horizon, haha).
