Chris - I would love to hear your review (as well as any others). I have
debating buying some of this...but I have a pantry overflowing with beans.
I am especially interested to see if this is similar to Los Chuchos de
Tolima (of which I have 5lbs worth).

The Caracoles is definitely different, brighter than Los Chuchos, but very
good. When I just re-oredered I chose the Los Chuchos over the Caracoles
because I felt it was a bit more complex with more of a Colombian noir
character at lighter roasts. However both are fine coffees.

Ricky - Thanks for the comparison. Would you say that the Caracoles is
closer to the Los Chuchos or Carlos Imbachi in flavor profile? I pick those
two coffees for compairson because, to me, they seem to represent two styles
of Tolima coffees: a lighter and darker (noir) style.
In my opinion (which is* *worth nil) some Tolima coffee seem to have a
lighter character: honey, golden raisins, and strawberries. Carlos Imbachi,
Merediano Microlot, and Florestales Maximinio Gutierrez are examples that
come to mind.
Others like the Los Chuchos does seem to have a noir character, as you so
aptly call it. Dark and drier fruits like fig, currants, and raisins. A
hint of tannin like flavors: Oolong tea and maybe even some tart apple
skins. When roasted a hair darker baker's chocolate.

In my opinion, more towards the Los Chuchos.but a less complex flavor
profile and more juiciness about it. it sounds lie i'm hedging, but it
really is in between.
try some! you won't be disapointed!
